Thanks David, very much looking forward to begin part of the study. Shall we try to schedule a Skype call? In the meantime, I will explore the site and see what I can find.

Dear David,

I am glad to be part of this network. I have done some work on "Introducing Peace Education in Schools" and another on "Peace and Citizenship Education in Cameroon Schools and Colleges". And now, what should do concretely to be part of your current research project. I will be glad to have any detailed information that should guide me into effective participation.

Yours sincerely.

Dze-Ngwa.

Hi David, I am a friend of Janicke Stray Heldal from Norway. We are doing some collaborative research comparing citizenship education and curricula in New Zealand and Norway, especially in light of the influence of the OECD (key competencies) and PISA results. I am interested to find out more about the group as it looks like it has so many overlaps with the work I am doing. Thanks for the welcome! Bronwyn

Dear David,

Thanks for getting in touch. The PhD viva should be done by May/June 2013, and hope to get more involved after that.

Best wishes for your work.

Hi David,

Thank you for the welcome. I used Paul Carr's work (Doing Democracy) in my dissertation and recently ordered and received a copy of "Can Educators Make a Difference?" where the project was discussed. As you say there is a clear synergy between my research and your work here so I thought I would try to join and see what connections and opportunities there are. I would be happy to skype anytime.

As I put my research together for next year I will definitely keep the global survey instrument in mind and be in touch with you about using it.

Hi David,

How can I obtain a copy of the survey instrument you used for the research on doing democracy? You said that there is a copy already translated into Greek. I'd like to do a preliminary round with pre-service teachers and with graduate students.

Cheers!

Angeliki

Hello, David and thank you for the invitation to participate to your project. My husband ( a retired professor from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada) came across a review of your co-edited book "Can educators make a difference?" and ordered it. I found the information about the project as I was browsing the book.

A little info about myself. I'm co-cordinator of the graduate program of Educational Administration and Leadership at the University of Thessaly, and the coordinator of the teacher education practicum at the Department of Primary Education. I'm very interested in issues of social justice, democracy, and leadership. With co-authors Linda Lyman from Illinois State University and Jane Strachan from the University of Waikato, New Zealand have recently published a book titled: "Shaping Social Justice Leadership: Insights of Women Educators Worldwide."

I can use the survey with undergraduate and graduate students, university personnel, community leaders, teachers, administrators, board of educations staff etc.

Cheers!

Angeliki

Hi,

We had a meeting to discuss about what we should do to carry out the project. We decided that we should apply for funding from Ministery of Education and/or Turkish Academy of Science and Technology so we should prepare a proposal. that means our earliest start date will be around September or October . When we start writing our proposal, we will need the original project proposal of yours. We'll be very happy if you can send the original proposal so that we can adapt it.

Best wishes

Eylem&Seda

I am confident that I can finish it before the conference. I'll send you the finding in next few days for you to have a look at it. If you find it worth presenting, I'll try my best to write the full paper before the conference begin. I believe I can do it.

I've completed the analysis & I hope to give you some findings of it. I was so busy lately with the administrative part of my organization, and it distracted my mind. However if you need the abstract I'll email you.

Thanks for your welcome! OK, I'll try to find a picture for my profile.
I sent you and Paul an email, though I haven't find the way of doing so at the same time for both on this site. I just need some more time I guess.
Tomorrow I'll have a busy day but I´ll try to enter in the afternoon. See you!

Hey David,

I haven't formally started yet. The data your seeing might just be from my tinkering? Paul is looking over my final draft, "Amsden Teachers" and I'm waiting to hear back before I proceed. Please feel free to check out that survey, too. I also have yet to attain formal ethics or permission from one of my schools. Should have ethics approval from McGill the second week in Feb. Other questions/comments?

I will need some tech suppport providing the survey to schools (i.e. clearing the results, collecting the data). I'm also not sure the way survey monkey will process the data--guess I'll just wait and see?
